Manga Chess
Guide
At her new school, Priscila doesn't want to know about friendships. Wheelchair-bound, stubborn, and short-tempered, she wears her armor of pride to keep everyone at a distance. But everything changes when she crosses paths with the enigmatic Professor Andreia, who sees hidden potential in her—and with three unconventional students:
Rosa, an albino girl full of style and attitude, who believes that everything can be solved with energy and "FASHION!"
Vitor, a blind, sensitive, and intelligent boy who sees the world in ways no one else does.Together, they form the school's Chess Club, and they will attempt the impossible: to get Priscila to accept her first challenge on the board—and in life.
Between moves and provocations, strategies and laughter, an unexpected bond is born. And Priscila will discover that in chess, just like in friendship, sometimes you have to let your guard down... to deliver checkmate.
Author’s Note
Chess Guide is the English translated version of my original Brazilian manga, Manual Xadrez.
In Portuguese, the word “xadrez” means both chess and checkered patterns, which is part of the original title’s wordplay. Since this double meaning does not exist in English, Chess Guide was chosen as the closest and clearest adaptation.
This manga was created to teach chess concepts through story, characters, and visual examples.
